Dianthus barbatus Barbienne Deep Red
Dianthus Barbienne Deep Red is a stunning scarlet/red variety of the Dianthus Barbienne series. Dianthus Barbienne is a highly productive biennial series with long, sturdy stems and large, beautifully formed, dense umbels. The different varieties are uniform in flowering time and are more resistant to rust than standard Dianthus series. Sow Barbienne in the greenhouse from late summer to early autumn, for flowering from late winter to mid spring. Sow outside in mid summer for harvest from mid spring to early summer. Under tunnels and with young plants as starting material, you can even start earlier than that. Dianthus Barbienne needs a cold period to bloom, but is then easy to plan and flowers profusely with high quality flower stems. Discover all the cheerful colours of the Dianthus Barbienne series.
