Schefflera arboricola
Schefflera arboricola, also known as Heptapleurum, is a beautiful shrub with a compact and bushy growth habit. This dwarf-type Schefflera arboricola resembles a smaller version of the more tree-like S. actinophylla, with smaller, thicker leaves. The leathery leaves sit on their slender stems like an umbrella, or like fingers on a hand. Schefflera arboricola is native to the subtropical forest regions of Taiwan, where it grows creeping and climbing. It can grow epiphytically on trees without extracting nutrients from them. As a houseplant, Schefflera is incredibly versatile and adapts quickly to various climatic conditions. Schefflera can be easily pruned to keep it tall and slender or short and compact. Furthermore, Schefflera is a great air purifier. Schefflera arboricola is also known as the Dwarf Umbrella Tree. Other internationally used names for Schefflera arboricola include: Dwarf Umbrella tree; Hawaiian Elf; Dwarf Schefflera; Parasol plant. Evanthia has Schefflera arboricola starting material available year-round, as seeds and young plants from seed. Ask our team for the Schefflera cultivation manual for commercial production.
