Evanthia is a young, fast-growing and ambitious organization with two dynamic divisions: Tropical & Flowers. For our Flowers division, which specializes in breeding, developing and marketing high-quality cut flowers and potted plants, we are looking for a breeder.

What are you going to do?
At Evanthia Flowers, as a cut flower breeder, you get the unique opportunity to turn your knowledge in plants and genetics into tangible results. You develop varieties that are not only distinctive, but also make a difference for growers worldwide.
You work on challenging breeding programs within specific crop groups and you are continuously building a forward-looking portfolio.
After an induction period where you get to know our crops and methods, you will lead one or more crop programs. Your work determines the success of our innovations and thus the future of cut flowers worldwide.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
• Together with the Seed Production, Product Management and Commerce departments, you will develop long-term visions and strategies that are in line with our market-oriented crop goals
• Developing and implementing breeding strategies
• Setting up and implementing crossbreeding programs for the development of new varieties
• Analyzing genetic data and applying modern breeding techniques
• Reporting on progress within Crop teams and writing annual crop evaluation reports
• Actively contribute to the R&D department in various meetings, research issues and schedules
Your profile
• A completed HBO or WO course in plant breeding or a similar direction
• Experience in plant breeding is an advantage, experience with cut flowers a bonus
• Being able to independently carry out breeding and selection programs in multiple crops
• Knowledge and experience with modern breeding methods and techniques
• Creative, decisive and analytical
• Strong communication, a real team player and proactive attitude
• Experience with breeding software, such as E-Brida, is an advantage

Account Manager Tropical (full-time)
As Account Manager Tropical, you are part of our ambitious commercial team. Together with fellow Sales Managers, Sales Support and Marketing, you are partly responsible for the commercial success of our tropical plant offerings. In close cooperation with Sourcing and Production, you ensure that our customers can count on a unique range, the best starting material (seeds and young plants from seeds, tissue culture and cutting) and personal service.
