Yucca filamentosa 'Color Guard'
Yucca filamentosa Color Guard is a robust, evergreen perennial with a clump-forming growth habit. This subtropical beauty has decorative, sword-like broad leaves. The leaves feature yellow and green stripes. In winter, the yellow stripes can take on a pink blush. Yucca filamentosa is native to the southeastern US, primarily from Carolina to Florida, where it grows in forests and along the coastline on slopes and dunes. The slow-growing Yucca filamentosa is the most cold-hardy Yucca and is very suitable for patio pots, gardens, and landscaping. In early summer, cream-colored pendulous bells bloom, attracting pollinators. Yucca filamentosa is commonly known as Adam’s Needle. Other internationally used names for Yucca filamentosa are: Needle-palm; Spoonleaf yucca; Aiguille d'Adam; Yucca filamenteux. Evanthia has Yucca filamentosa Color Guard available year-round as young plants from tissue culture. Ask our team for the Yucca cultivation manual for commercial production.
